Do you Know? Energy Efficient Permanent Magnet Motors

Nova Systems has installed a 500 HP Ultra High Efficiency, permanent magnet AC motor on a very large turbo fan application. These motors can provide a significant energy savings on equipment that operates 24/7/365, like compressors or extruders. In some cases, a cooling motor can be eliminated which is even more energy savings.

PC based CNC

Filed under: PC Based Control — Tags: , — Kenn Anderson @ 10:14 pm

Nova Systems is working with a PC based CNC software package. This software runs on a properly configured, PC of your choice.  We suggest using an Intel product as the drivers have been tested with those processors.  Other than that, there are no requirements for special computer hardware.  Depending upon needs, there are CPU to hardware bridges available for bringing in encoders, override pots, etc. This system is perfect for small machine tools and other small automated equipment. Please call Kenn Anderson at 414-771-4800 for more information.

DC Drive Replacement

Nova Systems recently completed replacing a failed, obsolete DC motor drive on an Aluminum extruder. This drive was connected to an unusually designed DC motor with a series-connected field coil. Nova was able to find a creative solution to control this existing motor with a modern Carotron Blazer DC drive, while replacing a minimum of external components. This minimized expense and down-time to the customer.

We were able to achieve this while only having an incomplete set of schematics, largely not written in English.

If you have an old or obsolete DC motor drive that needs to be updated, Nova Systems can help.
