Our Team

When you call Nova, you are engaging a group of qualified engineers and technicians who have over 100 years of combined industry experience. With a diversity of expertise, from programming and retrofits to industrial motion control and operator interface devices, the Nova team is well equipped to handle any project or service call. The Nova team will work closely with you to achieve your desired goals in a timely manner. We can also provide you with panel construction, training and technical documentation that includes CAD drawings, instruction manuals and software printouts.

Sara RS Miller

Sara RS Miller

Chairman

After running her own PLC software company, Valley Controls, Sara became one of the original founders of Nova Systems in 1995. During the early years of Nova, she provided the expertise for PLC ladder logic programming and PC programming using C. Sara would also work with machine operators to design functional Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) screens. As the company grew, both in employee count and revenues, Sara migrated into the role of Managing Partner and is only occasionally programming for special projects.

When not directly involved with Nova responsibilities, Sara can be found volunteering for Door Shakespeare, an outdoor summer theater in Door County, reading classic books or attending live performances featuring local Art groups in the Milwaukee area.

Sara graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a BS in Nutritional Sciences and from Milwaukee School of Engineering with an AAS in Computer Engineering Technology.

Kenn Anderson

Kenneth M. Anderson

President

As one of the original founders of Nova Systems, Kenn wears many hats. Apart from supporting engineering and technical activities, his primary focus is to meet with potential clients and listen to their concerns. With over 40 years of industrial experience, a large network of technical resources and the expertise of the Nova engineering team, Kenn will formalize a plan and create a proposal to address and offer a solution to the current issue.

Before heading to the office, Kenn usually starts his day with a workout at the YMCA. Away from the office, one will find him up in the North woods taking pictures, bicycling the local trails or playing guitar.

Kenn graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a BS in Electrical Engineering.

Noah Anderson

IT & Electrical Technician

Noah has returned to the Nova as full member of the team after having assisted us in our IT needs as a contractor. In addition to IT, Noah will now support our phone system and any other technical issues on the administrative side of the business. His main responsibility will be to manage the shop and the assembly and electrical work on control panels. He is also training to help Nova out with service calls regarding variable speed drives and projects that require PC hardware and software.

Noah completed an IT Networking program at ITT Technical Institute.

Kate DeChambre

Kate M. Dechambre

Application Engineer

Kate has had many roles at Nova since her beginning as an Engineering Intern, including administrative and accounting responsibilities. She is now Nova's inside Application Engineer with the responsibilities of project management and coordination with the customer, programming, CAD, project documentation and purchasing.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys playing volleyball. Her other interests include traveling, photography, music, reading and spending time with her friends and family.

Kate graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering and then went on to complete her MS in Biomedical Engineering from the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences in Lübeck, Germany.

Ben Otto

Ben Otto

Application Engineer

Ben joined Nova in October of 2016. His primary responsibilities are troubleshooting, electrical design, and PLC and motion controller programming. He graduated from UW-Madison in May 2016 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Theater and Drama.

When not working, he can be found juggling, photographing wildlife, volunteering at theaters, and participating in Bike To Work Week every week.

Amy Weems

Amy Weems

Accounting and Administrative Assistant

Amy joined the Nova team in October 2017. Amy comes to our team with 10+ years of small business accounting /administrative experience and is proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office. Her experience includes accounts payables/receivables, payroll, purchasing, scheduling and customer service and she possesses strong multi-tasking skills.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys her time spent with family and friends. As a mother of 4 and grandmother of 3, she is kept busy, especially with her youngest's sport schedules. Football, Track and softball schedules consume most of her time, however, during the summer Amy and her family camp as often as they can. Although a very busy mom, Amy loves to bake and decorate cakes for all occasions from birthday cakes to wedding cakes.
